I was mistaken about the Wisconsin connection. There is little doubt in my mind now that John Donnelly was the son of Arthur Donnelly and Anne Radigan... here is an assortment of notes on this family:

The mother of John Anthony Donnelly was Ida E. (?) Donnelly, born
ca. 1887 in New York. Her father and mother were born in Germany.
The father of John Anthony Donnelly was John Donnelly, born ca. 1873
in Canada. Moved to the US in 1874. Naturalized in 1898. Renting
house. His father was born in Canada. His mother was born in Ireland.
Employed as a steelworker in the shipyard at Tampa.
In the home are brothers Andrew S. Donnelly (born ca. 1910) and
Hugh W. Donnelly (born ca. 1913) and sister Francis E. Donnelly (born
ca. 1915).
John Anthony was born in New Jersey. His younger siblings were all
born in Massachusetts, indicates that the family moved to Tampa,
Florida between 1915-1920.

My Grand-father Hugh Donnelly passed away long before I was born
and my father Herbert Henry Donnelly grew up not knowing him well
either. I have Grandpa's obit from the newspaper and it told me some
things I didn't know: he was born in Canada, he was a Spanish-
American War veteran, lived in the Detroit-Flint-Saginaw area (my Dad
was born in Bridgeport, MI in 1909), was a construction manager that
worked for some time in the Dutch East Indies, retired to Tampa, FL
and that is where he is buried. He had 4 brothers:John of Tampa, FL,
William of Detroit,MI, Joseph of Port Huron,MI, and James of Canada.
He had 3 sisters: Mrs. William Fox of Flint,MI, Mrs Jay Harrison of
Sandusky, MI, and Miss Elizabeth Donnelly of Port Huron,MI.
If any of you have info on my Grand-father and his surviving family I
would appreciate you getting in contact with me. I am the 2nd of two
sons born to Herb Donnelly (my older brother Robert is deceased) of
Flint/Davison, MI, I was born in 1959 and I live in middle TN - south of
Nashville. Thank you in advance for your help.
