Have you found any info since posting this message? My g-grandmother, Mary Ellen HURLEY married John Dominic DONEGAN in NY. John was born Feb 1858 in Washington, D.C. to Michael & Ellen (SHEA) Donegan. He went to Staten Island and resided with the Lewis family - he was a blacksmith apprentice. I believe John & Mary married in NY, but am not sure if on S.I. or not. Their first daughter, Jane Cecile DONEGAN, b. 13 Oct 1885 was baptized 18 Oct 1885 at St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, located on Richmond Terrace, S.I. On March 12 of this year, I visited the church. I am wondering if other DONEGANs in that area may still connect.
