G'day everyone, My husband has Donath relatives who originally came from Schleswig-Holstein Germany(prussia). The first to arrive in Aust was Johann Christian Donath born in that town on 2nd March 1851 and died in Melbourne Victoria in Oct 1909. He was married in New Zealand in 1880-81 to an Edith Hyman and they had 5 children...William Henry, Alfred, Frederick, John and Henry George. John was born in Feb 1889 and is my husbands grandfather. John died in Melb in 1967.
Johann Christian was naturalized in 1883 aged 31, he arrived in Australia from New Zealand on 1st Oct 1880 per S.S Te Anau from Wellington..I'm unable so far to find out if he arrived with or without Edith then...or what ship he arrived on when he came to Austalia originally. Any help would be apprieciated..thanks:)
