I have Johann Friedrich Donath married to Johanne Dorthea Koinke. I have an IGI file that list that name with a Christening date of 8 June 1828 in Dom, Berlin Stadt, Brandenburg Preussen. Parents Friedrich Wilhelm Donath and Caroline Mittelmeier. When Johann and Johanne came to America they did something unique. They registered in a State court all the births of all their children on the same day even the ones born in Germany. Their first born was Franz Richard 1 Dec 1855 in Rentrizt King. Saxony Germany. The next child wasn't born until 1861. That's quite a span considering the number of children born after that. Makes me wonder if some may have died before the registration took place. The birth certificates also list Johann born in the same place and Johanne being born in Mois King. Prussia Germany. They had 10 Children all together and the rest were born in Schleswig Twp. (Kiel), Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Despite the number of children there were not a lot of marriages. Several of the them remained unmarried and at home until their deaths late in life. Their daughter Wilhelmina was my GrGrandmother.
