I'm searching for information regarding the birth and ancestry of two sisters, born in Puerto Plata:
Sophie von Holten (1858 - 1860)
Henriette von Holten (1859 - ???)
Their parents were:
- Johann Herman von Holten (??? - 1899)
- Maria Josepha Lopez (c. 1940 - ???)
Their places of birth and death are currently unknown to me, but they married in Santiago, Chile, 1856 Sep. 20.
Johann may be the grandson of a von Holten couple that lived in the Virgin Islands, but I can't find the missing link/generation.
Johann also appears to have remarried in Denmark in 1861, to Minna Meyer, and had a third daughter, Constance von Holten, born in Charleston, South Carolina, US, in 1865.
Constance married twice:
- Carl Koch (c. 1863 - ???), in Cochabamba, Bolivia, 1885.
- Ernst Halberstadt (c. 1863 - ???), in New York, US, c. 1895.
More importantly, Henriette married my great-grandfather, Georg Decker, also in Cochabamba, Bolivia, in 1879.
