Here is the origin of our surname
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Chrysostomhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Chrysostom
We are of Greek ancestry; our name can be loosely translated as "Golden Tongue" as to describe the sermons that St. John Chrysostom spoke.
It can also be translated as "The Sword of Christ", as to the fact that Crisostomo's are the tip of the spear when it comes to the service of righteousness for all people's.
Look up Fr. Gregorio Crisostomo Y Lugos and Mariano Crisostomo, two brothers who were the backbone of the movement to end the Spanish occupation of the Philippines.
