On a recent trip to Louisiana, I transcribed and photographed a few headstones in the Catholic cemetery in Carencro, Louisiana. I posted those transcriptions and copies of the photos on the FINDAGRAVE.COM Website beginning at:

Where appropriate, I added CENSUS data and other information about those families to some of the pages.
The MARTINEZ, who's headstones I transcribed and photographed, descend from Sosthene MARTINEZ [Sebastian Sosthene MARTINEZ] and Marie HERNANDEZ. Marie HERNANDEZ (born about 1829) was a daughter of Anna Marie DOMINGUE and Pierre HERNANDEZ [my ancestors].

I only had time to transcribe and photograph a few of the headstones. I wish more time would have been available. There are a lot more headstones in that cemetery. My 15 year old grandson was with me and he learned a lot about many of his relatives and ancestors buried in that cemetery and a little about our family history.
