The Moise Domingue that I have in my records was one
of the younger children in the Lafayette-area family of
Antoine Felicien Domingue and Clemmence Sonnier. I stopped
taking notes after the year 1900, and this couple may
have had more children than on my summary. I recorded
13 children. Moise was born 2 Jan 1888. He was baptized
in the Lafayette Catholic Church (vol. 9, p. 95). This
is all the information that I have on Moise.

His parents:
Antoine Felicien Domingue, b. 23 May 1839 Lafayette,
m. 19 Nov 1866 Lafayette Cath. Ch.
Clemence Sonnier, b. 17 Feb 1849 Grand Coteau, d/o
Pierre Hippolite Sonnier and Alice Primeaux

His paternal grandparents:
Manuel Castro Domingue, b. ca. 1810 Valenzuela, LA,
m. 20 Jul 1838 Lafayette Cath. Ch.
Armentine "Clementine" Plaisance,* b. 11 Aug 1817 St. Martinville,
d/o Balthazar Plaisance* and Henriette BRAU

*Note: Plaisance is an Islańeo surname. You will find all the preceding
information in Rev. Donald Hebert, "Southwest Louisiana Records," vols.

His great-grandparents:
Manuel Dominguez, b. ca. 1785 Valenzuela, LA
m. 13 Feb 1809 Ascension Cath. Ch. at Donaldsonville, LA
Maria Antonia Hernandez, b. ? at Valenzuela, LA, d/o
Joseph Hernandez and Maria Hernandez

You can find the precending information in Diocese of Baton Rouge,
"Catholic Church Records," vols. Also see Albert Robichaux, Jr.,
"Early Settlers on Bayou Lafourche."

His great-great-grandparents:
Augustin Dominguez, b. Canary Isles
m. New Orleans, LA
Lorenzo Corbo, b. Canary Isles.

Gilbert Din's "The Canary Islanders of Louisiana" identifies
these two persons as passengers in the back pages of his book. Also see Sidney Marchand,
"An Attempt to Reassemble the Early Families"
I will smail you more information about them.

Was glad to be of help. Best regards and good luck in
your ancestor hunt!

Ed Domangue
