Eliza Dolph -- in 1828 she was a chambermaid of Welsh (Welch?) family, with whom George Washington Adams, son of president John Quincy Adams was boarding in NY. 27-year-old G. W. Adams impregnated her. Eliza had the baby in December of 1828, supposedly naming it Washington Adams. There was a scandal which was somewhat successfully suppressed by the Adams family so records are scanty. G.W. Adams committed suicide in April of 1829. Seeking more info about this Eliza Dolph and her baby. The baby may be in my line on my mother's side.
