Jonathan and Mary Young Dolloff: I have done a lot of research on this line as Jonathan Dolloff (3) and Mary Young, married Nov. 17, 1937, are my direct line. Jonathan and Mary Young from Exeter, NH were living in Scituate, RI. at the time of his death. The town records have a will and name 3 children: Jonathan, David and Richard. The records there show that Jonathan died in battle at St. Louisburg, Nova Scotia in 1747. I have copies of the household inventory that was done at the time of his death. Town records show Jonathan Dolloff being voted a freeman of the town of Scituate, March 1, 1743. Military records from the state archives of RI show Jonathan Dollif enlisted June 14, 1746 and dyng on December 12, 1746; length of service 107 days (document 79,vol 2) There are many cross referenced deeds and other records that clearly establish that this Jonathan Dolloff is the son of Richard Dollof. That he married Mary Young and had three children. Here is a little info I have on his wife Mary Young (Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island): James Blackmar and Mary Hawkins of Providence RI had a daughter Ann Blackmar b. 1690. She married James Young of Exeter, NH. He is the son of John Young and Sarah Wadleigh (daughter of Robert Wadleigh and Sarah Smith)of Exter, NH. James Young was a house carpenter, resident of Providence RI in 1706 and later of Scituate, RI. He died in June 11, 1747 Scituate, RI. Mary young is James and Anne Blackmar Young's daugher b. before 1718. She married Jonathan Dolloff (b. 1710) Ann Balckmar's mother Mary Hawkins has connections to Roger Williams, Founder of RI. When Jonathan died his wife Mary Young Dolloff moved back to Exeter,NH with her three young children and subsequently remarried to Samuel Thurston and had a child with him named Ephraim. The line for Jonathan and Mary young Dolloff, I have is as follows: Christian (1), Richard (2), Jonathan (3), Richard (4): Richard (4) Varius records support that his first wife was Mary Wells, 2nd wife Judith Fellows (but separated from her before he moved to Mt. Vernon. ME). Mary Wells was born East Kingston, NH Jul 31, 1748 daughter of John and Ann Wells. She had two brothers, James and Steven. James married Mary Smith. With Mary Wells, Richard Dolloff had five children: David, Sally, Betty, John and Ruth. Mary Wells died giving birth to Ruth in 1784. Richard Dolloff moved with his children to Mt. Vernon, ME (then called Washington Plantation)in 1795. The Smith and Wells families moved there as well (all from Exeter/Brentwood, NH). I have been to the home site in Mt. Vernon and there is still some of the foundation for that home and a couple of gravestones in the back. Mt. Vernon has a large cemetary and several smaller ones with many Dolloffs and their spouces, and some Beans and other commonly associated names. (I have photos of all of this). Children of Richard: David - b.1771 in Exeter,NH married Lydia Leighton 1799 Sally - b. 1772 in NH married Waldron Smith 1794 Betty - b. 1778-9 married Nathan Smith 1796 John - b. 1781 Exeter/Brentwood, NH, married ELizabeth Taylor 1802 I have the following information for David (5) son of Richard (4). He had one son James (6)- b. Dec. 11, 1802. James married Anna Trask and they had seven children: Mary, David, Sewall, John Reul(Revel), James Henry, Lydia Anna. Sewal Dolloff had 12 children. John Henry Dolloff (5) son of Richard (4),had eleven children: Daniel b. 1804 married Lydia Smith 1827 Mary b. 1806 marreid John B. McGaffy Sally b. 1808 mmarreid Aaron Gogswell David b. 1810 married Irene Jordon Betsy b. 1813 married Benjamin Brown John Jr. b. 1815 Mary Ann Davis Lydia b. 1819 Married James Joredon Salome b. 1821 Cyrus b. 1824 Jarius b. 1827 married Rosina Moulton Caroline Emily b. 1830 married Jeremiah Bradely Well, this is some of my information. I have some follow up on someof these lines. Let me know if this helps. If you have a line in mind from this, I will see what more I have. Christian (1), Richard (2), Jonathan (3), Richard (4), John Henry 5), David (6) is my Dolloff Line. Best Regards, Dianne Notify Administrator about this message?
