Bill, They are related, but it's a bit complicated. Let me see if I can think through this and explain it: John Dollarhide, the Rev War Vet, married Nancy Chittington in NC. Two of their known sons were Asa(hel) and James D. Your ancestor Nancy Dollarhide who married John Cooper was the daughter of Asa and wife Hannah Bunnham (Burnham?). I have your Nancy born in 1828, and the same marriage date you quoted. Asa and Hannah also had a son named James (1815-1869) who married Sarah Story in 1836, but he was not the James who was a JP. That was Judge James Samples Dollarhide, son of James D., the other son of John and Nancy Chittington Dollarhide. I guess that would make your Nancy a first-cousin to the Judge who married them. William Freeman Dollarhide was the son of Daniel Simpson Dollarhide, one of the sons of Judge James Samples Dollarhide. Daniel was married to Eliza(beth) Freeman. Hope this is clear enough; there were a lot of Dollarhides in those days! Regards, Molly Dixon Notify Administrator about this message?
