I'm very glad to see your posting, Sandra! It seems an earlier response of mine did not make it; but, it may show up later. I am a decendant of Martin Dollar, Morgan's brother, and Jane Ivy, Nancy's sister. For two years I've been trying to find the answer to your questions, and in the process have made contact with several other decendants fo Martin and Morgan, but have no verifiable answers. However, I believe Martin and Morgan were born in Orange County, NC, to John, or Johathan, and Sarah Dollar. Jerry Alsup's excellent book, "Finding My Next Dollar," lists John as the son of James Dollar, but failes to conclusively follow his life. I believe John is the same as listed in the 1830 census found in Bedford County, TN, with his family of several boys and girls. I believe Sarah is then found in the 1840 census, living in Madison County, TN, with her family, possibly as a widow. Alsup's book shows that cousins of Morgan and Martin traveled to Tennessee in the 1850, where Dollar, TN, located north of Madison County, was named after them. I believe Martin and Morgan then married the Ivy sisters in the 1840s, and by 1850 have their own young families in St. Francis County, AR. I hope to travel with my sister to Martin's grave near Prim, AR, this summer, and meet another decendant of Martin's. I look forward to your response to this message.
