Thanks, Geri. So, the Frederick Miller family is from the Snydersville area? How does Appenzell figure into this?
It won't be for a while.I don't drive, but my cousin, David Miller, does. He's on a train right now headed for Oregon. He won't be back until after Thanksgiving. It will be sometime after that when we've accumulated enough information on other family history sites to justify a trip. That's what I'm working on now.
I hit the motherlode on Frederick Miller and Anna Maria Meninger's son Frederick (b. 1778).It's on Ancestry.comHe was not married to Catharine Long.He was married to Catharine "Brang" d/o Sebastian Prong (s/o Johan Jacob Brang and M. Woelslaeger- her line goes back a ways) and Anna Barbara Horn.Frederick had a brother Peter born in 1809 that slipped under the radar. That's how I found all this info from his descendents.
It's going to take me a while to snag all of that. It's a lot.I'll post them in here when I'm done.
Does Horn, Brang, Prong, Woelslaeger sound familiar to you?Looks like they're all in Monroe County.
Best wishes,
Lynda
