There will be a Doiron Table set up at the Louisiana Purchase Celebration to be help June 14 & 15, 2003 in Rayne, Louisiana. Please check out the cafa.org site for more info (Confederation of Associations of Families Acadian, Inc..) site and then look under the Louisiana Purchase BiCentenial link. It sure will be a nice time to share info. On Sunday the Replica of the Cross in Nova Scotia marking the spot where the Acadian's were brought to be deported will be dedicated in St. Martinville, Louisiana (about 20 miles away) and it sure would be a good thing if lots of Doiron's were there to help commemerate this cross. The cross will be dedicated at the Acadian Memorial in St Martinville, that in itself is a site to see, if you've never been there. There is the picture of the arrival of the Acadians in St Martinville, by the Evangeline "OAK" tree. I was told there is mural around the corner depicting the Wedding. It is supposed to be the daughter of a Doiron. There is an road leading to the bid house with oak trees on either side. He had spider webs put in the trees and sprinkled with gold dust for his daughter to ride down on her wedding day. I have to see that.... Check out the site and let's have a good turn out for the DOIRON FAMILY! Please come join us in June. Thanks, Susan Doiron Lafayette, LA Notify Administrator about this message?
