St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, 19 Dec. 1929 Malcom Doig Sr., Former St. Charles Man, Dies Suddenly Malcom Doig, a former resident of St. Charles, died Friday evening at Glen Ellyn while watching a basket ball game. His death was due to a heart attack. The funeral services were held in Chicago Sunday afternoon. His son, Malcom Jr., was on the glen Ellyn high school basket ball squad. The Doig family left St.Charles in 1913 following the closing down of the Doig File Company and took up their residence at Evanston.For he past few years Malcom Doig had been associated with two of his sons in the painting of sign boards in Chicago, but making his home in Glenn Ellyn. Malcom Doig was a member of the city council in 1911 and 1912 and during his residence in St. Charles took a prominent part in civic affairs. He is survived by the widow and three sons, Stewart, John and Malcom, Jr. ------- I am not related to nor researching this family and have no further information.
