Carl W. DOHRMANN, Conrad DOHRMANN m. to Johanna/Elizabeth ORDEMANN

There are some links between the DOHRMANN and ORDEMAN(N) families. My sources are somewhat inconsistent: A marriage certificate (I've got just a citation, not the original certificate) states that Carl W. Dohrmann married Johanna M. Ordemann on 16May1868 in Manhattan. 1900 census data, together with information from another researcher can be interpreted that Conrad Dohrmann married Elizabeth Ordemann, having a son William Dohrmann b. Jan1873. According to one of the sources Johanna was born in America, but has German roots. And in Germany there was - and still is - no limit in the number of given names, so we could have a girl named Johanne M(-agdalena/-aria/...) Elizabeth Ordemann born to emigrated Germans. But what is the origin of the different Dohrmann given names? Is there somebody who has a solution?
Thanks in advance.
Nikolaus
