James O'Donnell born around 1840-45 in what I now think was Glenmakee area of Co Donegal, married Susan White Doherty born around 1840-45. They married at Sacred Heart Church in Carndonagh around 1865/66.
Their children were and their god parents too

John O'Donnell dob Nov 21, 1868. His God parents were

Neal O'Donnell dob Feb 15, 1871. His God parents were

Mary Ann O'Donnell dob July 28, 1873(later my grandmother)
Her God parents were: Denis O'Donnell & Bridget Doherty
Maggie(Margaret)O'Donnell dob Nov 27, 1875. Her God parents were: Hannah O'Donnell & Hugh Doherty
Denis O'Donnell dob Feb 4 or Jan 11? 1878. His God Parents were: Janes & Bridget Doherty

Talk about confused. I also have the cousin family in Co Cork : John O'Donnell, his wife Elizabeth Carney and their 3 sons, John F, Peter, and Patrick, and Neil Doherty his wife Mary ?, and their 3 daughters Bridget, Mary, and Ellen.
I do know that John F O'Donnell m Bridget Doherty in Carndonagh in Jan 1881, and immigrated to MA in April 1881, first settling in Stoneham, later North End of Boston I think.
I'd like so much to learn how the God Parents connect to the family, and about their own families as well. I don't know if all the God parents listed are married to one another though. Oh so many O'Donnells and Doherty's I need somehow to get help to sort it all out.
Any help would be very very much appreciated. Does anyone have any of the above names in their families? Tell me, one never knows where it could lead.
