My great-grandfather, P.J. Doerr, was born in 1821 in Dieburg, Hessen-Darmstadt. He, and his brother, Caspar, and P.J.'s future wife, Anna Maria Wunderlich, with her parents and some siblings, were in a group of almost 150 who emigrated to St. Louis in 1847.
His ancestors came to Dieburg from Babenhausen about 1800.
