Adam Doering, one of my eighth-great grandfathers, was from Ruestungen, Germany. He was a field hand on the Schultheiss farm. Hans Doering Jr. (b. ~1600/1673) of Ruestungen may have been his father or uncle. Hans Doering Sr. (~1559/1643) may have been his grandfather. Following is the original family crest.
