Amazing how many Ebners in your family history are from Unteralpfen, Baden. My great-grandfather, Jacob (or Jakob) Ebner, came from Unteralpfen around 1860 to settle in the Easton, PA area. When he married in 1867 he listed his parents as Fridolin Ebner and Magdalena Baumgaertner. I don't believe they ever emigrated to America. Of course, it's possible that Valentine Ebner, etc., may be related to my ancestor; that would be interesting. From what I've seen online there are Ebners in at least half of the states of the continental US. We do get around (my wife and I now live in Arizona). Good luck in your quest!
