My husband's family includes several Dodds; namely, James Dodds and his son, William, who left Ireland in 1760. The Dodds emigrated from Scotland in 1709 and settled in Ulster in Northern Ireland. When some of the Dodds came to the US, they settled in Pennsylvania; 2 brothers - Andrew and John - were present at the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. I shall continue to look through any papers we may have for the names you mention regarding your Dodds. If your family is from Ohio, however, I would assume they, like ours, began their citizenship in Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio. What part of Ohio are you from? We are in Scioto County, Ohio, and many Dodds are buried down here in the Mt. Joy cemetery. Let me know.... Regards, SallyAnn McChesney Otway, Ohio Notify Administrator about this message?
