Reply to Gayle Grantham. I believe more than one Dodds family left Ireland. This branch left Northern Ireland in 1610.
My information is a exerpt from a notebook of Gilbert James Dodds(1860-1918) written May 16,1911.
He lists the birth dates of Mary Clinton and Rev.James Dodds twelve children, He speaks of Captain James Clinton also a father of twelve, and Margaret his daughter who married major B.F.Stephenson having 12 children. They were sturdy people who helped settle the frontier. My mother, born in 1900 and her two brothers were the last of our branch of the Dodds family.
