I thought this letter might interest Doddridge genealogists.
Dear Friends of Doddridge Chapel Community Church,
We are having an association meeting Sunday, July 25, 2004. It will be at the church and will begin around 1:30. Hopefully you will be able to attend. Feel free to invite your friends and family. We would appreciate any and all that can come.
If you are not able to attend but have names of people who would appreciate this news letter feel free to send me a note. I continue to update the addresses I have. The addresses are for possible association memberships and future donations. The future of Doddridge Chapel is dependent on membership dues and monetary donations.
This year we have had several good things happen at the Church. We were able to accommodate a November wedding. Doddridge Chapel was placed on the National Register of historical places, electrical wiring has been updated and two of the electrical fans have been replaced. Reid Doddridge’s plaques (donated by his cousin Elaine Doddridge Heidrich and her husband Jim) has been set beside the Church, some large old bushes have been removed and Matt Campbell has repaired some of the older tombstones located near the church.
The Still Waters Baptist Church congregation left in October. They have relocated in Greens Fork, IN. The rent they paid the Cemetery Association had previously paid Mr. and Mrs. Smoker for the mowing. The income we have lost has made a definite dent in our working financial budget. The Allstate Performance Plus Annuity account is secure. We hope we do not have to adjust that account because of the penalties that occur if our account is disturbed before January 27, 2005.
We would appreciate any donation you could send at this time. We hope to see you Sunday, July 25 at the church around 1:30.
