You don't mention the range of years involved, but as regards the Doddridges in Canada, I am fairly certain that almost all the Doddridges in Canada are descended from Thomas and Elizabeth (Webb) Doddridge (on many papers Thomas spelled his last name with only 1 d [Dodridge].) He was born circa 1772 in Tavistock, County Devon, England; enlisted in the military in 1790 at the age of 18, in Plymouth England; and married Elizabeth Webb in Stoke-Damerall, Plymouth, Devonshire England on October 09, 1793. According to his military record, he was transferred to Quebec, Lower Canada in November 1805. From what I have gathered Thomas & Elizabeth had twelve (12)children: Thomas, John, William, Edward and Charles, and Dorothy, Mary Bridget, Joan, and Sarah (three other girls- (Johanna, Elizabeth and Elizabeth died very young). He eventually rose to the rank of Sergeant in the 4th Battalion of the British Artillery. The family then spread throughout Quebec and Ontario, and eventually into other Provinces.
