My data is limited. However, a source published at the beginning of the 20th century in Great Britain (The Dodderidges of Devon) refers to the Rev. Dr. Joseph Doddridge(born 14 Oct 1769 in Pennsylvania) founding churches in north west Virginia and East Ohio.He died back in Virginia in 1826.He was married to Jemima Bukey and reportedly had 2 children: Charles Hammond Doddridge (d. 1834) and Philip B Doddridge (d. 1860). Dr Joseph's brother, Philip D Doddridge, was apparently a Congressman and died in Washington DC in 1832. Dr Joseph's father was John Doddridge of Maryland, said to have founded the Doddridge Chapel in Maryland.
