I am seeking the gravesites of Capt. Lebbeus Dod and his father Stephen Dod of Mendham, New Jersey. Stephen Dod migrated to Mendham from Doddtown, N.J. (now East Orange, N.J.) in 1745 when Lebbeus was 6 years old. Both lived the remainder of their lives in Mendham. Lebbeus Dod was attached to the Revolutionary Army during the whole war, with the rank of Captain of the Artillery. He was detached from active service by order of General Washington and directed to establish an armory for the repair and manufacture of muskets, for which his mechanical talent particularly adapted him. Both he and his father, Stephen, were members of the Hilltop Presbyterian Church. Another son, Parmenas Dod, along with his wife and three of their children have been found in the Churchyard Cemetery. I would very much like to find the graves of Lebbeus and Stephen Dod. Stephen's dates are 1703-1764. Lebbeus is 1739-1816. Thanks!
