I do not know if all of the information is correct but if anyone knows please correct me! My father was Ray Lee Dodd and my grandfather was Levi C. Dodd. My great grandfather was George Washington Dodd and he was born March 11, 1875 and died May 11, 1952. George was born in Independence,Arkansas and died in Lawrence,Arkansas. His burial was May 1952 in Lawrence County. He was married twice and the second marriage was to my great grandmother Laura E. Milgrim and she was born 1881 and died 1957. My second cousin gave me some information off the census and I do not know if it is 100% correct. I was trying to figure out who George Washington Dodd's parents were and this is what I got.
William Henry Dodd DOB 9-20-1828 Died 12-20-1890
Married August 15, 1868 to
Nancy Caroline Six DOB 9-28-1848
They had 11 children together
1. William Henry Dodd Jr. DOB 12-24-1868 in AR
2. Martha Dodd DOB 11-30-1873 in AR
3. George Washington Dodd (my great grandfather) DOB 3-11-1875 in AR
4. Maggie Mae Dodd DOB 11-2-1876 in AR
5. Tom Harmon Dodd DOB 6-10-1878 in AR
6. Francis Marion Dodd DOB 1-27-1880 AR
7. James Joshua Dodd DOB 8-30-1882 in AR
8. Nancy Maude Dodd DOB 6-9-1885 in OK
9. Charlie Lee Dodd DOB 8-1888 in OK
10. Infant Dodd DOB 8-8-1888 in OK
Also was told that William Henry Dodd's parents might be Adam Dodd and Margaret Dodd was in Green County,TN Washington county,AR 1860 Census. Don't know if true or not.
Also George Washington Dodd Married Laura E. Milgrim in VA according to the census. Laura had 3 brothers and her mothers name was Martha. The brothers names are:
Ratus age 32
Levi C. age 31
Charles H. age 29 according to the 1920 census. Ratus lived two doors down from Clarence and Mary Pierce in 1920. Levi in 1920 lived next to his sister Laura and Charles lived next to him with his family. In 1910 Ratus and Levi lived together with their mother Martha F. Charles was also in the area and was married to a woman named Margaret.
This might explain how my grandfather Levi C. Dodd got his name. It seems he may have been named after his uncle. It also looks like William Henry Dodd Sr. went to OK in the Indian Territory Chicksaw but first he went to TX to wait for the Indian Territory to open up so he may claim land there. William Henry Jr. is in that Territory with wife and kids. William Henry Jr. had a wife named Sarah DOB 1880 and the childrens names were Minnie P. and William T. and Martha J.
