Well this is no help unless you are better than mysteries than me! I have a GGGG-grandmother named Mary (Polly)Dodd, b. 11 Oct. 1774, who married Amzi Armstrong, b. 1 Dec. 1771. She died in Perth Amboy, NJ. Do you think Amzi was a common name of the times? I had never heard it until doing family research. You have Amzi Dodd and I have Polly Dodd Armstrong married to Amzi! There has got to be a connection! Good luck.
