Thank you for your reply. I believe I can give you some additional info on this family. Travis Dodd is descended from an early Prince William/Fauquier Virginia family -- that of Nathaniel Dodd 1720-1784. Travis was the son of Benjamin Dodd - abt 1750-1815 - and Sarah (Southard ?). Travis married Elizabeth Humphrey b. abt 1790 - 1845. They were married abt 1810 in Virginia. Elizabeth was the daughter of Charles Humphrey and Elizabeth Jones. They had two sons we know of: William Humphrey 1815-1895 and John Allen 1814-. We do not have details of any other children. There may have been a son and a daughter both born before 1820. Note on Travis (Travers) Dodd: I have a copy of a Land Grant paper which reads in part: "...granting bounty land to . . . soldiers engaged in the Military Service of the United States . . . warrant no. 76194 for 120 acres in favor of Travis Dodd, Private Capt Dulin's Company, Virginia Militia . . .(land location) at Warsaw, Missouri. . . .By the President: James Buchanan" If you have any further documentation I would appreciate knowing about it. Robert Lee Dodd 1860-1924 was a son of Humphrey Dodd. He married Cora Ella Huffman 1869-1930. C. N. Dodd was the son of Robert Lee Dodd. His name was Corey Nelson Dodd. He lived at the site of the old "Spotted Tavern." This is the family who ran/owned the Dodd cider mill and grainery. Corey Nelson's brother was Maurice (pronounced "Morris") S. Dodd 1892-1960. He had a store in the area and helped run the cider mill. I believe Maurice served in WWI. He had a wooden leg. Humphrey Dodd had 12 children and many of his descendents still live in Virginia. I have much information on this Fauqier/Stafford Virginia family and am glad to share with others. Notify Administrator about this message?
