My great grandfather John Russell Docherty married Christina Crawford in Uphall, Scotland 11 July 1889. He emigrated to Australia in 1922 with his family and settled in Kurri Kurri, NSW. He died in 1941. I assume he was a widower when he left Scotland. The family came from Broxburn and were coal miners.
John Docherty's last child Meg died June 2006 at 98 years of age.
