Yes we are related. My great grandfather is the James W. Pierce you mention, although I know him as James Perry Pierce. My grandfather was Norval Pierce, from James's 1st marriage, whereas Miriam was from his 2nd marriage. All that I knew from my grandmother, Margaret (Bond) Pierce, who used to live in Natchitoches, LA, is that Miriam's married name was Dobyns (she did spell it right), and I had a picture of a young kid in a uniform named Jimmy. With the recent influx of genealogical data on the internet, I was able to do a search crossing Miriam Pierce with Dobyns, and got your full name and father's name. Then I visited the Dobyns forum and happened upon your entries, and contacted you.
