I have seen no information that suggests John Dobson Jr. was married twice. The key dates we have for him is birth abt. 1780, death on 01 Feb 1864 in Randolph Co., AL.
His wife Nancy Parks was living with her son, Wallace Washington Dobson, in Macon Co., NC in 1870. Perhaps that's where the 'Nancy Wallace' comes from? She was born 15 May 1784 and died after 1870.
Seems that you may have found another John Dobson; there were several as you can see from the following census. It appears to have been favored name, possibly because of the heroic death of Patriot Captain John Dobson, Sr. Here are some more John Dobsons from various census records:
