Looking for information on Benjamin Dobson who was a river boat captain on the Genesee River in Western NY. He was in Lockport, Niagara Co. in the 1870's. One of his sons, John, was born in Riga, Monroe Co. NY in 1822. Therefore, Benjamin was probably born in the late 1700's or early 1800's.
