I'm not sure what relationship you are trying to confirm, but I do have information about William and Lucinda Adelaide Billings Dobson. She was a sister of my great-grandfather, William Jefferson Billings. The information I have was sent by a granddaughter, Ethel Dobson Ware, now deceased, who already had some family information and also wrote to many uncles, aunts, and cousins to get more after I wrote to her about the Billings family.
According to her records, William Dobson, born 17 Sept. 1843 in Yorkshire, England, son of George Dobson and Anne Orrah, married Lucinda on 5 December, 1867 in Manchester Illinois. In 1883 they moved to Cherokee County, Kansas, near Weir, where they lived the rest of their lives. William Dobson died 1 December, 1920, and Lucinda died 12 October, 1927. Both are buried in Pleasant View Cemetery, Cherokee County, Kansas. In addition to the four children named in the 1878 History of Morgan County, Illinois, they had three more children: Angeline Dobson, born 20 April, 1880 in Manchester; Elizabeth Dobson, born 13 October, 1882 in Manchester; and Fred Norman Dobson, born 11 July, 1885 in Cherokee County, Kansas. I have informtation on later generations if anyone is interested.
