Rainer B. Dobson was my great-great-grandfather. My parents have his family Bible, although, unfortunately, there are no births or deaths recorded in it.
You might try checking the records for Elmore and Chambers Counties, AL, as some of the family was located there - I don't know if they were there in 1858, though.
Rainer and Harriet Carlisle Dobson's daughter Harriet married Joseph Guy Waldrip, son of Asa Melton Waldrip and Martha Thomas Sears Waldrip of Coosa Co. Their daughter Effie Doris Waldrip married John L. Ogletree of Sylacauga (Talladega Co.), AL. They were my grandparents.
My cousins Alan Wickersham (1st cousin) and Dot Saunders (2d cousin) also occasionally post to this board and have information on the Dobsons, Carlisles and Waldrips. Are you related to this line?
