Thomas Dobson of Letterkenny, Co Donegal, Ireland mar (1) Amanda ?; (2) ? McCauley. The family was Anglican (Church of Ireland). It would appear that the majority of official records (church or civil) from this area have been burned. Children 1st mar: Martha, Samuel, Robert, Andrew, Margaret Jane. No children from 2nd mar. Martha never married. Samuel married and had 5 sons & 1 dau. His wife died early and so his sister, Martha, helped to raise the children. Robert emigrated prior to WWI to western Canada, where he farmed, possibly in Alberta. When WWI began, he returned to Ireland, enlisted and was killed. What happened to the land he homesteaded? Andrew married and moved to Liverpool, England. Margaret Jane, my grandmother, was bn ca 1890 and emigrated to the US in Oct 1910 coming through New York. Any info concerning this family would be appreciated.
