It appears that Edward Wiley Runnells Dobbs is the son of James Dobbs and Ann Armstrong as per 1850 census Gwinnet cty - Sugar Hill area: James Dobbs 60, Anna 50, James 27, Matilda 23, Saletia E 19, Edmond W R 14,
Nicy M 12.
I found neither James nor Edmond in 1860 census. This is not my Dobbs line but I have followed all GA Dobbs families to try to understand them.
1880 census shows Edmond in Newton cty:
W R Dobbs 45 h, Dinai 37 w, Hubbard 14 s,
Wyley 13 s, Robert 11 s, Octavia 9 d,
Sarah M 8 d, Talitha Annie 6d, William G 3s,
John 1 s
