Madonna,
It appears we are from the same Dobbs family. My great grandmother was Lieussey (Louisa) Dobbs Westerman. She was the daughter of Richard Lindsey and Piety Evans Dobbs. She married about the time the family moved to Missouri and settled at first with her husband's family in Washington (now Iron/Reynolds) County Missouri where my great grandfather (John Greene Westerman) was born in 1845. The family left Iron County and moved to Douglas County near the Dobbs side of the family during the civil war. After the war the Westermans moved to Texas County where Louisa died in 1898. My question is two fold: 1) Do you have a copy of an article written several years ago by a Mrs. Ed Dobbs describing the 1844 migration of the Dobbs family and others from Tenn.? I've seen it referenced, but have never seen the article itself. And 2) What do you know about the family's involvement in the civil war? What fall out from their Union affiliation did they suffer from confederate leaning neighbors? Thank you.
