Found some info. I received several years ago that Orleana Dobbs was born about 1820 and went to Missouri with her father Joel Dobbs. Joel Dobbs was born 22 Feb 1791 in Buncombe or Burke Co., NC, married 1814, Claiborne Co., TN to Sarah (Sally) Morgan, born 1788, Buncombe Co., NC, died 1828, Casey Co., KY. Joel died in 1842 in Taney Co., Missouri. The family must have moved from TN to KY between 1820-1823 since the next child after Orleana, Fidell Hunter Dobbs, was born in Casey Co, KY 4 March 1823. Fidell kept records!!! He researched the Dobbs line and Ruth Lessley Parker, a descendant of Fidell's sister sent me this information. Ruth would be 93 years old now. Joel married a second time after Sarah's death. Don't know who the second wife was. Karen
