Thanks Lou, For answering my query. I am so glad that I am not alone in hunting these Richards' who span several generations!! They are sure making it hard for us to follow their history. There is a Seth and Richard Dabbs/Dobbs in the TN 1850 Wayne County Census. Richard is 34 and wife Elizabeth is 31. Is this the Richard and Elizabeth you are trying to follow? The census page was very light and hard to read, but sometimes going to a different Library and using another copy of Census film can make a difference. I happened onto that bit of info accidently. I had copied a census page in Clayton Library and then moved to Palestine,TX and re-looked at that Census and found a very clearer film. I copied the new found film and had a much better copy to read!!! Also there is a Richard I. Dobbs civil war veteran #S16197 Lewis Co, TN with 48th (Voorhies) Inf. I have more Dobbs/Dabbs veterans and their TN regiments. Give me your email address and I will give you those names and whatever else I have. The past month or so I have been working on another line, so I will have to regroup and put on my Dobbs/Dabbs genealogy hat! :) Thanks again for answering. Even when I receive info that someone can't help me, just getting that responce back settles my mind. But when I don't hear back from a query I posted or an email I have sent, I stay very 'antsy'. We love this sleuthing, don't we!!!! Dale Notify Administrator about this message?
