I think that Robert Dobbs & Serepta Merritt divorced. Robert Dobbs and his brother, Balaam, disappeared from GA (or at least I haven't found them) after 1870 census. If I remember correctly, in 1880 census Serrepta was enumerated with her parents & there is a child listed as a grandson perhaps with Merritt surname. I have thought that he was perhaps son of Robert & Serrepta. Do you know what happened to Serrepta? A Dobbs cousin with Merritt lineage told me that she moved to OK. Can you tell me the children of Levi Merritt & Lilly S Martin?
