I have been doing some more research on Willaim 1740.I have come up with the followingRichard Dobyns father of William Dobyns born 1640 fatherof Drury and Daniel Sr. married Eliza Smith.father of
Daniel Jr. b 1712 married Boulware father of richard, Daniel, edmond ,Charles.and William 1740. Now i found a family history to sum it up make it shorter, says there were 6 families of Dobyns in Richmond VAthat spell there name Dobyns.5 families in the valley county of Frederick that spell it Dobbins.in the year of 1790.They were Griffth,Griffth,Thomas,Edward,William.heads of household. There is no other William that fits the dates.Especially now knowing it was with him that the spelling was changed. This author makes it clear that the Dobyns that stayed in the Richmond area were upstanding and prominent people. They were college grads.and we know that William signed with a X. i am thinking these children came from one woman maybe Daniels wife Boulware? She is not mentioned in his will.Where was she? Let me know what you think. Lisa
