I have also concluded that my Dobbins family had orgins in Pa, particularly Chester and Lancaster Counties. You've made mention of John Dobbins, born in 1747, married to Elizabeth Keener. He is a direct ancestor of mine.He enlisted first in Lancaster County, Pa.Which makes me think he could have been born there or in the area. How probable could it be that the James born in 1712 can be the father of my John Dobbins? I am hoping to connect my John Dobbins with the other Dobbins in that area.Do you know of any other researchers hunting down this same John?
Any help would be appreciated.I would be happy to give any information I have that you would be interested in.
