Maggie,

According to the Doane Family books your Joseph Doane and his brother, Isreal, descended from Daniel(3),Daniel(2),John(1). John(1) was Deacon John Doan. Isreal (b. 1699) had a son Joseph, who in turn was the father of most of the Doan gang. My husband is a descendant of the "outlaw" Doans.

Besides the Doane Family books, I've found 2 other books with lots of info:
"Awaiting the Millennium:The Children of Peace and the Village of Hope" by Albert Schrauwers

"Children of Peace" by W.Hohn McIntyre

Hope this helps.

Bonnie
