Looking for descendants of George Mason and Mary Marilla Hatfield Doane, lived in IA and Santa Maria, CA. Founder of Doane Building Co. Marilla is my g-grandmother's cousin. Their aunt, Samantha L. Howard Nicholson left her personal possessions to George and Marilla. I'm looking for old family records hoping to prove parentage of my 2nd g-grandfather. Samantha's father was a widower at his death and living with her family in Washington Co., OR. No other family out here at that time. Any existing records would have been with Samantha, she d. 1898, Santa Maria, CA.
