Asahel Doan was born 21 Oct 1802 in Saybrook, Conn. His parents were Richard and Anna Post Doan. They moved to Ohio around 1806 or 1807. Sarah W. Stanley was born in Washington County, Ohio 16 Nov 1804. Her parents were Thomas and Mixenda Nott Stanley. Thomas Stanley was born in Wethersfield, Conn. The Stanleys came to Washington County in 1789.
Asahel and Sarah were married 12 Dec 1825 in Washington County. Both died in 1891 and are buried in Salem Twp. Cemetery.
Richard Doan and Thomas Stanley were both veterens of the Revolution. Richard Doan s line was Prince Doane - Prence Doan - Israel Doane - Daniel Doane - Deacon John Doane (who came to Plymouth Colony 1629-30).
I am descended from Asahel's son William A Doan, and also from Asahel's brother Lyman.
