My records show that Edgar Doan was the brother of William Doan, Irvin's father. Edgar was born 3/7/1837. He was single and went with William to the south during the Civil War. Irvin's father started home first, had a hard time crossing the lines, and the brother, Edgar didn't get through. He was supposedly killed.
