Amanda I'm also tracing a genetic disorder that possibly could come from the Doan side. My Doans are the Doans from PA but the disorder is Porphyria and goes much further back than the Quakers, possibly through Perkins. Interesting that another person with Porphyria also has Leiden V Factor and could be a Doan through Hutchins. Porphyria is much like Hemachromotosis, sometimes the two are mistaken. Alot of the info on Porphyria is worst case scenario. Many people have milder symptoms although it's ironic to call them mild as they aren't mild to the person having them, just milder than the extreme cases found online. I have researched the genealogy for the disorder for almost three years and it's brought me to the Doan forum. I would love to hear from anyone who is a Doan and also has this rare disorder.
