Is anyone researching Doan's in Haldimand Co.? I am looking for a Persis or Persie Doan born 1849; died 1921. She was the third wife of Dr. T.T.S. Harrison of Selkirk, Ontario. His first wife was Esther Doan, daughter of Joseph Doan. Esther died at Walpole, Ont on 17 Feb. 1861 at the age of 29.
According to written info. on Dr. Harrison, Esther and Persis are rumoured to be sisters. In the will of Esther Doan's father, Joseph Doan (John, Daniel, Daniel, Israel, Joseph, Joseph, Joseph, Esther) there is no mention of a daughter by the name of Persis. I have read the will myself.
Any clues you can give to aid in this mystery will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
