John and Adam Dennis

I am trying to find information on John Dennis, whose son Adam, married Leah Doan. I am also interested in John Dennis' f father and mother, Adam and Sophia Dennis. I believe they came from New Jersey, but I have been unable to find a surname for Sophia, nor parents for Adam.

Does anyone know if John or Adam were from Quaker families? There seem to have been a lot of Quakers in Bucks County, PA, but I have Adam and Sophia as members of a Lutheran Church in NJ before they came to Canada.
